Discover the beauty of the River Medway on this multi-day kayaking adventure from Tonbridge to Allington Lock. Paddling through the heart of the Kent countryside, you’ll experience peaceful waterways, charming riverside villages and an abundance of wildlife along this historic route. The River Medway offers a gentle, meandering paddle with a mix of weirs and locks, open stretches and calm backwaters - perfect for a mini-expedition full of scenery and adventure.

Expedition Highlights

  • Beautiful Kent countryside - paddle along tranquil stretches of the River Medway surrounded by stunning scenery, historic locks and quaint riverside villages 
  • Wildlife spotting – keep an eye out for herons, kingfishers and even otters 
  • Riverside camping under the stars 
  • Relaxed paddling - we'll cover approximately 12km per day over 4-5 hours 
  • Hassle free - we'll organise the route, kit and campsite and provide you with a list of what to bring

  • Tents, sleeping bags and mats 
  • Stoves & gas 
  • Cutlery, mugs and plates/bowls 
  • We’ll also post you two 10L and two 20L dry bags ahead of your trip - the perfect size for packing into kayaks 
  • A recommended packing list and a video guide showing how to pack efficiently 
  • Campsite fees are included in the trip price. 


Please note we do not provide food, however, water will be available throughout the expedition. We’ll take care of all the essentials so you can enjoy the expedition without stress.

Medway Meander Kayak Adventure

Experience Required

This trip is ideal for those who want a relaxed, scenic paddling adventure with a bit of independence. You should be comfortable kayaking for 4-5 hours a day and able to manage portages at locks. Previous kayaking experience is helpful, but you don’t need to be an expert - our friendly team will ensure you’re fully prepared before setting off.
