Kayak through one of England's most iconic landmarks
Paddle the Jurassic Coast by sea kayak, exploring hidden caves, towering cliffs and beaches only accessible from the water, before gliding through the world-famous Durdle Door arch itself. This is a full-day adventure covering around 16km of some of the most dramatic coastline in Britain.
One of our most spectacular tours. If you've ever looked at Durdle Door from the clifftop and thought "I wish I could get closer," this is how.
The Jurassic Coast from sea level
The coastline between Kimmeridge and Lulworth is 185 million years of geology compressed into a few miles of jaw-dropping scenery. From a kayak, you see it all from the perspective it was meant to be seen - looking up at cliffs that make you feel very small and very alive.
We launch from Ringstead Bay and work our way along the coast, exploring caves and rock formations that most visitors never know exist. The water here is remarkably clear - you can see the seabed beneath you as you paddle - and the cliffs change colour and character with every headland. Kimmeridge's dark ledges give way to the pale limestone around Lulworth Cove before the chalk starts.
And then there it is. Durdle Door. From the clifftop it's impressive. From the water, paddling through the arch with the Jurassic Coast stretching away on either side, it's genuinely breathtaking. We stop at the beach beyond for lunch, which is only accessible from the sea, and enjoy a chance to swim before the return paddle. The trip back takes a different line, catching details we missed on the way out. Sixteen kilometres of coastline and not a single dull metre.
