Come join the team on a paddle on the River Wey. We have chosen this exciting section as it has everything to offer including paddling through Guilford itself, paddling through open countryside, wildlife, locks and the Wey Navigation.

This tour will start and finish at a public pay and display car park on Woodbridge Meadows just below the railway bridge that goes over the river (GU1 1BA).

Once we are on the water, we will start to head downstream heading towards the city centre. We will paddle past the National Trust Tea Room which provides the perfect place to stop for refreshments on the way back if wanted. After this we will paddle through the heart of the city, tranquilly floating past everyone leading their busy lives.

After Guilford we will paddle out into the open countryside and dramatic woodland. When we reach Riff Raff cottage, we will portage a weir to leave the navigation behind we will then find ourselves on the course of the old river. This is twisty and windy creating a real paddling adventure whilst starting to head back towards Guilford.

Once back on the main navigation we will head back up through the city maybe stopping at Millhead lock for an ice cream or other well-deserved refreshment.

For this trip we will use our single and double sea kayaks. These are stable craft and are designed for eating up the distance, this makes us able to paddle the 8km trip with ease.

Please note: If the conditions on the day mean that the planned route is unsuitable then we will do our best to try and get you on the water, this may mean changes to the advertised itinerary
