Sea Kayaking on Chichester Harbour A group of sea kayakers on Chichester Harbour Getting ready to launch at Itchenor
Details

Join us for a fantastic kayaking tour where we will travel and explore Chichester Harbour (AONB). Along the way you’ll see loads of birdlife, yachts, fleets of racing dinghies, and some fantastic views.

This trip will start from Itchenor Public Slipway (PO20 7AW), and we will paddle along the harbour past Cobnor Point, towards Pilsey Island (Where we may be lucky enough to see some of the local harbour seals). We will then head towards the large sandy dune beaches of East Head, which is the inland side of West Wittering Beach. We will stop on the beach to allow a leg stretch and a quick explore of the sand dunes - watch out for the many different types of butterflies which inhabit this area.

On our return journey we will be able to see some of the beautifulhouses which are on the harbour side, and we will aim to paddle back up the opposite side of the harbour so you can enjoy the different sights. We will arrive back at Itchenor, where you’ll then be free to head to a coffee shop, pub, or just sit on the benches and reflect on the great trip you’ve just had! Or why not enjoy the coastal path which runs along the side of the harbour and stretch your sea legs and relive the trip from another angle?

For this trip we will use our single and double sea kayaks. These are stable craft and are designed for eating up the distance, this makes the 10km round trip nicely achievable for everyone.

Please note; the route around the harbour may vary during Go-Canoeing week, dependant on weather conditions.
