If you have basic knowledge of paddling, then this is the ideal next step for you. On this two day course we will explore the world of kayaking and canoeing in greater depth, with the aim of making you look slick in a boat after the course.

Our Course:

This course is British `Canoeing affiliated, please take some time to look at the syllabus, training, and assessment notes which can be found here:

British Canoeing's aim for this course:

“Successful performance at this level indicates that the paddler can use fundamental paddlesport skills on flat water to control movement of both canoes and kayaks, and have an understanding of how the paddle, boat, and water interact.”

We follow the BC syllabus, adding depth to every skill and giving you the full benefit of our knowledge, this ensures that not only do we cover the skills to get you the award, but we aim to explain when and why these skills would be important to use. We use a range of delivery styles to ensure that all those who attend our course benefit from them, as well as making the course fun and informative, but most importantly making you want to get out and paddle more!

We will use a range of craft on this course including sea kayaks, closed cockpit kayaks, sit on tops and open canoes.

Typically we spend the first day in kayaks at Itchenor, Chichester Harbour, and the second day in open canoes at Pulborough on the River Arun. However, details may change in accordance with weather conditions.
